As of January 2012 I have not been able to positively identify where "Stresow" is in modern Poland. According to Wikipedia (Link below) there are 3 places that were named "Stresow" before 1945:

Since I have positively identified Stargard and Stettin in modern Poland - I looked at Google Maps to try to find one that was close to this area. Strzeżewo & Strzeszów are both very close and Strzyżyno isn't far either - near Gdansk. There was a rumor that Hermann has used to say that he was from Gdansk so I don't want to rule the out.
