Margaret Houghtaling

Margaret Houghtaling, 91, of Greenport, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Whittier Rehab & Skilled Nursing Center.
Born August 1, 1923 in Enfield, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Emma (Heidemann) Kelley.
Mrs. Houghtaling was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, where she was the treasurer, and the Willing Workers Society, where she was secretary and treasurer.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elwood Houghtaling, and three brothers, Charles S. Kelley, John Kelley, and James Kelley.
Margaret is survived by her sister-in-law, Josie Kelley of Hudson, several nieces and nephews, including Lenora (Daniel) Stacey of Athens, Charles Kelley, III of Hudson, John Kelley, Sr., Beverly Martino, and Donna Kelley, and many great-nieces and great-nephews, including Steven, Brian, and Gary Stacey, Meghan Kelley, Michael Kelley, Michael and Louis Kelley, Jr., John Kelley, Jr., Casey Kelley, Amy Ellis, and Kelley Spodris. She is also survived by her cousins and her good friend, Blanche Hotaling.
Calling hours are 4:00 - 6:00 pm Thursday at the Bates & Anderson - Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
