Frederick "Fritz" Weichmann of Protection Road in Holland died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Fiddler's Green Manor in Springville at the age of 85.
Born in Buffalo on April 22, 1923, he was a son of Michael and Anna (Heil) Weichmann. He married Letty Marie "Sue" Weichmann, who passed away July 31, 1975.
Fritz served in the U.S. Army from February 3, 1942 to September 26, 1945, and continued his military connection as a member of the Machias American Legion. A self-employed mechanic, he owned and operated his own junkyard. He enjoyed stock car racing.
Survivors include his children: Suzanne Dziedzic of Angola, Betty (Lyle) Stroh of Phoenix, Arizona, Frederick (Jen) Weichmann of Freedom and Edwin (Ruth) Weichmann of Sandusky; a daughter-in-law, Deb Weichmann of Yorkshire; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
His brothers, Michael, John, Edward, George Sr. and Otto Weichmann preceded him in death, and did his sisters, Catherine Kingsland, Anna Meier and Elizabeth Tidd.
A funeral service Wednesday, June 25 at W.S. Davis Funeral Home in Arcade was officiated by Rev. Rocky Mitchell. Burial was at Protection Cemetery in Holland.

Frederick "Fritz" Weichmann WEICHMANN - Frederick Fritz Age 85, of Holland, died June 22, 2008. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at W.S. DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 358 W. Main St., Arcade, where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM. Interment in Protection Cemetery.
