Narrative

St. Lawrence Republican - Wednesday May 15, 1912
The remains of Mrs. Emma Pike Hurst, formerly of this place but of recent years has lived in New Hampshire, arrived at this place Thursday on the 12 o'clock train, accompanied by her husband Frank Hurst and son. She died Sunday, Mary 5th, at a hospital from an operation. She was united in marriage with Mr. Hurst about twenty years ago. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Pike, and was known as a bright and attractive young lady of a cheerful disposition and possessed many of the good qualities that make the true lady. The remains were met here by her brother, Webster Pike, and taken to his home until Friday afternoon when the remains were deposited in the Pike plot at this place. She leaves her husband, two sons, a sister, Mrs. Gerrydene Johnson and two brothers, William and Webster; a step-mother and two half sisters to mourn her departure.
