Hi Tom, So nice to hear from you. I too have been pretty busy and have not done much genealogy lately, but now that I am done with college for the summer I have started back up a little because I am only working on Tues, Wed and Thurs, so I have a little bit of time. Since I have talked to you last I have found out some more info on the Weichmann side of our family. I have visited Johann and Elizabeth (Meier) Weichmann's graves. I have been there twice. I went once last fall and then went about two weeks ago and took pictures (as soon as I get them online, I will email them to you). Yes it is part of Mt. Calvary. Some years ago, Pine Hill, United German and French Cemetery and the rest of the surrounding cemeteries joined and are now all one. Johann and Elizabeth are both buried in what was United German and French Cemetery. It is right off the 33, Pine Ridge Road exit. While I was there I also visited their main office and have the copy of the original burial records and a copy of the lot and map of where the graves are and who was buried there. According to this paperwork, Johann Weichmann coowned the lot (119- Section DD)
with a man by the name of Jacob Gruber. In addition to Johann and Elizabeth there are 8 other Weichmann's buried here, and 10 others (in-laws etc...).

Johann and Elizabeth's oldest son Joseph married a woman named Antoinette
Hour(d)t. The Grubers that coowned the plot with Johann is Antoinette's relation. I think Gruber must be Antoinettes mothers maiden name.

Joh. and Eliz. daughter Anna married Henry Hunger who was killed in a trolley car accident in 1911. He is buried here too. She later married Joseph Nigrelli and as you know from Mary Ellen Ullman orphaned out her children, Sophie, Gert, Joseph, George and John.

I have also found out some information on Elizabeth's parents, and from some help from another relative who spent some time in Germany last summer have obtained the information from her original birth certificate. Apparently Eliz. was born illegitimately (10-25-1860) to a Maria Meier (Maier) in Schwandorf Germany. The birth certificate listed her father as Caspar Lang of Aichohau Germany. Eliz. had a brother Mathias (we think) that was born in 1854 illegitimately to Maria also and his father was listed as Johann Weiss of Gutenech Germany. I still have not found out exactly when Eliz and Johann Weichmann were married and have not found out exactly what year they came to USA, but I believe it was some time between 1881-1885, as Michael was born September 23, 1885 at Bundys Alley in Buffalo. I have not found out for sure, but I think that Bundys Alley is now Pine or North. I have not yet been down that way, but I know it is down by the water front. Johann was first listed in the Buffalo City directory in 1885 as a porter at Bundys Alley.

Since I have talked to you last I have been to see Uncle Otto and Aunt Jean probably a half a dozen times and have now "adopted" (we joke about this) Otto as my grandpa, as George has never shown an interest in getting to know me or my brother Jimmy. Otto fell and broke his hip earlier this year in late winter and I have not seen him since, but will probably get over there in the next few weeks. He is so nice as is his wife and they are so interesting and willing to share all the old stories and memories.

I have been especially busy the last two days as Jimmy and his fiancee Shannon just gave birth to their first son last night at 12:37am (June 6). They also have a little girl age 6. We were at the hospital all day on the 5th from 6am until about 3 am after he was born and then back again today from about 2 pm until 9 tonight. They get to bring the baby home tomorrow, but they have to decide on a name first.

My dad had asked about you a few times since last summer and would really like to meet you someday (me too). Maybe we can get together sometime. Uncle George keeps asking my dad if I have talked (email) to you since last summer, so I am sure he would like to get to know you too. We have not heard anything from Tom, Richard, Sandy, or Bonnie. I talk to Marge every now and again and really need to get over to see her because she said she rounded up some old pictures of my dad and has made copies for me. She only lives 10 minutes from me. But my dad and her really dont talk so it is a little weird for me. Not that they dont get along, they just dont talk much. And she does not really care for Otto much and that makes me feel a little strange too.

I will look over all of the information I have rounded up over the last year and email you again on whatever I missed in this email. I am in the city 3 days a week so maybe if ya want we can meet for lunch or something someday-no pressure though, I understand if you dont want to, and dont blame you for being a little hesitant. I will settle to just hear from you online- it is nice to talk and share info.

As soon as I get my scanner back up and running (it sh*t the bed for a bit), I will email pictures of what I have and maybe a few of me and Jimmy and my parents and Uncle George so you can see what we look like. It was nice to see the pictures of you and your girlfriend because I can put your face to your name and kind of feel like I know you already.

Hope to hear from you soon.
