Arcade resident Loretta Ruth Sly, 82, died Friday, May 12, 2006, at her Douglass Drive residence.

Born in Colden on March 21, 1924, she was a daughter of Jacob and Lena (Bangl) Kaiser. She married George Washington Sly, who died in 1999.

Mrs. Sly was a line worker at Fisher-Price.

A member of the Yorkshire Methodist Church, she enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Miller of Arcade and Deborah Weichmann of Chaffee; two sons-in-law, James Miller of Holland and Fred Weichmann of Freedom; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were a son, Dennis George Sly; two brothers, Carl and Earl Kaiser; and two sisters, Dorothy Pilkington and Ethel Kittleson.

Mrs. Sly's funeral was held on Tuesday, May 16, at W.S. Davis Funeral Home in Arcade, with the Reverend Constance Biele officiating. Burial was in Yorkshire Cemetery.
