Hi Tom. Your mom said you are doing a search of our relatives too. Here is what I have on the Kelley side so far - it is not much :

My grandfather was Charles Steven Kelley and he was born in Germantown, NY. He had one brother, Arthur, a sister Mary and a step sister, Alice. He was born in March of 1899 and died in May of 1941 at Hudson. He was 42 when he died.

His mother's name may be Margaret. I have been unable to locate a social
security number so far.

My grandmother was Emma Heidemann Kelley Erler. She was born in Germany
and came to the US when she was approximately 13 years old. She had one
brother, Adolph. Her social security number is 077-07-7799. Her date of
birth is 4/7/1898 and she died on March 1966. Her mother's name may
have been Ernestine (maiden name Tarneau) and her father may have been
Herman. Aunt Peg was very sketchy with this info. I wrote to Immigration
for info on my maternal grandparents and am waiting to see what I get
before requesting on Gram Erler. I don't know where else to look yet for
info on the Kelley's. My father is checking for his birth certificate and
that may get us some things. I'll let you know if I get anything further.
Any info you have will be appreciated also. By the way, I am getting our
invites ready for the BBQ - July 21, 2001 at 4:00 hope you all can make it.

Here is more information I found, also I am going to write to Adolf and
Anna's children, all of whom we used to see quite a lot, I also knew their
children but, of course, have lost track. Here goes:

Charles Stephen Kelley: Died 5/1941? (Can't find anything on Master Social
Security Death Register to date)

brother: Arthur Kelley, married to Johanna, think they used to live in the
Saugerties area
Anna Mae
Cecelia , a son, Bobby (I think) and don't remember
others, still checking
Buddy (?)

Elsie

sister: Mary, married to Fred LaGrange and lived in Thompsonville Ct

I am going to call Uncle Charlie as he had contact with the Saugerties side
and I haven't seem them in ages. Evelyn, Fran, Bub, Marty and Bob we used
to see alot when they all lived in Mass. Now most live in Fla with two in
Mass. I have their addresses and will write to them and see what I can
find. Will let you know. Love to all.

 

P.S. There are also some step brothers and/or sisters from a marriage or
live in arrangement with Grampa Kelley (I think) and will find out from
Uncle Charles.

I'm almost sorry I started this. What a mess, no one knows their own
grandfather and grandmother's names!!!!
