Event Note
Joseph's birth year seems to be either 1873 or 1874 dependent on the document you look at.
In his naturalization record, it states 14-OCT-1874 Since his head stone states 1873, I am going to stick with that. I somewhat discount all of the census stuff as there are other factual errors I can note. In the censuses he always states he is from Germany or Baden, when he was in fact from Austria-Hungary. He also states that he immigrated to America in 1881, but in his naturalization record and the ship record it shows 1892. However it does seem most of the important documents that Joseph himself (or maybe his parents) would have provided information for (Naturalization Record, Ship Manifest, Bizonyítvány, Keresztlevél) all state 1874. The only only I can't account for is the Községi Bizonyítvány. |
